A Havelock North couple stranded near Kotemaori on Friday afternoon have thanked QRS project supervisor Aaron Hoskin for lending them a hand through the QRS website.
Jim and Kay Harland were disappointed their weekend getaway to Mahia hit trouble early into their holiday when their car broke down near Willowflat Road.
Kay says she was thrilled to see Quality Roading and Services staff working nearby and before she knew it Aaron bounded over to give them a hand.
“His big smile and pleasant manner put us at ease during this difficult and disappointing situation,” says Kay, an early childhood teacher and centre manager.
Kay says he was under the car before she knew it and correctly diagnosed the wheel bearing had gone. He then drove them up and down the main road helping the couple find reception so they could call for roadside assistance.
“He went above and beyond to help us and checked on us again as we waited.”
Keen to acknowledge their gratitude Kay contacted QRS through its website to pass on their sincere thanks.
“The man is a star and we thought he deserved a pat on the back.”
