Connecting and growing our communities.
QRS was very proud to be involved with the creation of the new visitor centre and living building Te Wharehou o Waikaremoana at Lake Waikaremoana.
QRS helped out with the building’s foundations, landscaping, carpark, and the turning circle. The company was one of the first contractors onsite clearing the area and laying metal down so other contractors could come in.
During construction many lake-based Tuhoe -affiliated QRS staff were able to work on the project.
QRS project supervisor Malcolm ‘Muzz’ Tuahine says it was an enormous privilege to be involved in a professional capacity with the spectacular new Te Urewera Visitors Centre.
“Because we are local we are really invested in projects like that and everyone is fully immersed in the aroha and respect that goes with them.”
