QRS is engaged in earthworks in preparation for development of the Wairoa Destination Playground.
This important new community project is being developed beside the river and brings a long-held vision to life for the town.
The earthworks include raising the land area to mitigate flooding risk.
The playground is being funded by the Lottery Grants Board with help from Eastland Group. It will be on the bank of the river and in the heart of the community, and is tipped to be a vibrant, engaging place for Wairoa locals and visitors to enjoy all year round.
