Please attribute the following statement to Quality Roading and Services chief executive Nigel Pollock.

The New Zealand Government has will shift the COVID-19 status to Level 4 tonight (Wednesday 25 March) to fight the spread of COVID-19.

This means that only essential travel will be allowed on the roads, people who can work from their home will be required to do so, and we will all be advised to stay home unless we are deemed by the Government to be providing essential services.

In light of this, the offices of Quality Roading and Services in Wairoa will be closed until further notice and any current work in the region will cease.

We understand this may cause some disruption and we are working with our shareholder and clients to ensure expectations are being met through this unprecedented time.

The health and wellbeing of our staff is paramount. QRS staff were called together for an outside meeting on Tuesday morning and social distancing was maintained. Staff have been reassured that they will have financial stability during the lockdown period.

QRS will continue to support AFFCO with its services. Also, QRS will respond to roading emergencies ensuring accessibility continues for the district.

We trust you understand the reasons for the steps we are taking. There is a lot to consider and QRS continues to plan for the future should the lockdown period be extended.

Please check our website and Facebook for any further updates.
